Delhi Traffic Police Issues Advisory Ahead of Kisan Ghat Farmers Protest
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of a scheduled demonstration by farmers at Kisan Ghat in central Delhi on Tuesday. Commuters and local motorists have been warned of potential congestion and route diversions starting from 8:30 AM, as the gathering is expected to impact traffic movement across several key roads in the area.
According to the official advisory, traffic diversions may be enforced on a need basis by the police to ensure public safety and smooth traffic management on the ground. Motorists traveling through the central part of the city are advised to prepare for delays.
The traffic police indicated that vehicle movement is likely to be diverted from several major junctions. These key points include Delhi Gate, Rajghat Crossing, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shantivan Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot, and the IP Flyover.
Furthermore, authorities have specifically advised motorists to avoid several roads entirely. These stretches include Satyagrah Marg, Velodrome Road, Rajghat DTC Depot Road, and Rajghat DTC Bypass Road, as well as their surrounding areas, where the gathering of protesting farmers is expected to disrupt normal traffic flow.
In light of the scheduled protest, the Delhi Traffic Police has urged commuters who are traveling to the airport, local railway stations, and adjoining areas to plan their journeys well in advance. Commuters are also encouraged to use navigation applications to receive real-time traffic updates before setting out.
The public has been advised to cooperate with the traffic personnel deployed on the ground and strictly follow their directions. The advisory also emphasized that motorists must park their vehicles only in designated parking areas and strictly avoid roadside parking to prevent further blockages.
The Delhi Traffic Police acknowledged that commuters may experience inconvenience during the period of these restrictions and appealed to the public to adhere to traffic rules to ensure hassle-free movement.
