Delhi Traffic Police Head Constable Killed In Singhu Border Hit-And-Run

A Delhi Traffic Police head constable was killed on Wednesday evening after being hit by a speeding vehicle while on duty at the Singhu border. The incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. while the officer was regulating traffic in the area.

The victim has been identified by authorities as Amit, a head constable with the Delhi Traffic Police. According to a senior police officer, Amit sustained critical injuries due to the collision. He was immediately evacuated from the scene and transported to the Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in Narela. Upon arrival at the hospital, medical personnel declared him brought dead.

The vehicle involved in the collision did not stop and fled the spot immediately after striking the officer. The Delhi Police have since identified the vehicle and launched a search operation in an effort to trace and apprehend the driver.

A formal case has been registered by the police, and further investigation into the hit-and-run is currently in progress. Departmental officials confirmed that they are completing the necessary departmental formalities. The police department is also extending assistance to the family of the deceased head constable.
