Delhi Traffic Police Alert Commuters to Delays on MB Road Near Saket
The Delhi Traffic Police on Thursday evening issued a travel advisory warning commuters of slow traffic across several key stretches in the capital, with major corridors in and around Saket facing disruption due to ongoing infrastructure work.
In an alert shared on X, traffic officials cautioned that movement is likely to be impacted especially during peak hours. Commuters have been urged to plan their journeys in advance and allocate additional travel time.
Several sections along Mehrauli-Badarpur (MB) Road are heavily affected by the ongoing works. Between Saket G-Block and Pul Prahladpur, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) construction is currently underway. On the stretch between Lado Sarai and Pul Prahladpur, the Public Works Department (PWD) is executing drainage and pre-cast RCC box drain work. Motorists traveling along MB Road from Khanpur to Vayusenabad, near Batra Hospital, are also expected to witness slow-moving traffic.
Nearby arterial routes are experiencing similar bottlenecks. Commuters using the BRT Corridor between Sadiq Nagar and Sheikh Sarai face disruptions due to DMRC construction work. On the Outer Ring Road, flyover construction work between Modi Mill and Savitri Cinema is also likely to affect vehicular movement.
In northwest Delhi, drainage repair work between Anand Pur Dham in Karala and Brahmshakti Hospital in Rohini is also impacting local traffic flow.
The Delhi Traffic Police advised motorists to switch to the metro or other forms of public transport wherever feasible and to bypass the affected corridors during peak hours if possible.
Authorities also urged drivers to maintain strict lane discipline, avoid abrupt lane changes, and refrain from using the wrong side of the road or driving on footpaths to skirt congestion. Commuters have been instructed to keep intersections and U-turns clear and to follow the instructions of deployed traffic personnel.
