Delhi Police use tea stall clue to find missing specially abled teen in Dwarka

On Sunday, the Delhi Police successfully located and reunited an 18-year-old specially abled youth with his family in Dwarka, New Delhi, after he went missing on Saturday night. Officers tracked the teenager down by focusing their search on local roadside tea stalls across Sector 6, Sector 10, Ramphal Chowk, and markets in sectors 7, 10, and 12, following a crucial clue provided by his father.
The teenager, who is a resident of Sector 6, had gone missing on Saturday night. At around midnight, his concerned father approached the police post in Sector 10 to report the incident and seek help from the authorities.
Along with sharing a physical description of his son and details about the clothing the teenager was wearing when he was last seen, the father provided a key detail to the officers. He explained that his son had a strong fondness for drinking tea and often made stops at roadside tea stalls whenever he ventured outdoors.
Based on this specific piece of information, police officers immediately mobilized and formed multiple search teams. The search operations also involved the active assistance of local residents who helped look for the missing teenager.
The search teams decided to target tea stalls across the Dwarka sub-city. Officers visited various locations, including Ramphal Chowk and the busy local markets in sectors 7, 10, and 12. They spoke to one tea vendor after another, hoping that someone might have noticed the teenager or could offer a clue about the direction he had taken.
In addition to the tea stalls, police officers conducted thorough searches in public spaces, such as local parks. After hours of repeated inquiries and targeted searches, the police finally managed to trace the teenager and bring him to safety on Sunday.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh, the teenager was safely reunited with his relieved father. The reunion took place after the police completed the verification of the youth's identity and concluded all necessary legal formalities.
