Delhi Police Seize Two Stolen SUVs Bearing Same Registration Number

Delhi Police have seized two stolen SUVs after discovering that both vehicles were using the exact same registration number during a verification drive in New Delhi ahead of Independence Day.

The incident unfolded when police officers stopped one of the SUVs for a routine check in the city. When checking the vehicle's details against the official police database, officers noticed that its registration number matched another vehicle already listed in their records.

Following the initial discovery, police performed a verification of the SUV's engine and chassis numbers. The inspection revealed clear discrepancies, prompting officers to initiate a deeper investigation into the vehicle.

Police subsequently tracked down the second SUV carrying the duplicate registration number. Further verification confirmed that both of the SUVs had previously been reported stolen.

According to the police, the registration number had been duplicated and attached to the vehicles in an attempt to make identification difficult for law enforcement. Officers have seized both SUVs as part of the ongoing case.
