Delhi Police search for Shubham Rajput after wife shot dead in Sangam Vihar

A 30-year-old woman was shot dead on Thursday afternoon in the Tigri area of Sangam Vihar, South Delhi, allegedly by her husband following frequent domestic disputes. The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 PM, after which the accused fled the spot, according to the police.

The deceased victim was allegedly shot four times by her husband, whom the Delhi Police have identified as Shubham Rajput. The couple had been married for around two years before the fatal incident took place.

According to the police, preliminary investigations suggest that the couple experienced frequent disputes. The accused had also allegedly been threatening the victim with dire consequences prior to the shooting.

Family members of the deceased alleged that Rajput was involved in an extramarital affair with another woman, which was a frequent source of arguments between the husband and wife. A police officer confirmed that the family claimed the accused was in a relationship with another woman and would often threaten to kill the victim. The police stated that these allegations are currently being verified by investigating officers.

In addition to the allegations of an affair, the victim's relatives also claimed that Rajput was involved in betting activities. The Delhi Police noted that they are examining all aspects of the case and are currently verifying the background of the accused.

Immediately following the incident, police teams reached the spot in South Delhi and shifted the victim's body for a post-mortem examination. Crime and forensic teams also inspected the scene to collect evidence, recovering empty cartridges from the area.

The Delhi Police have registered a case of murder. Multiple police teams have been formed to trace Rajput, who remains absconding as of Friday.
