Delhi Police Reshuffles 43 Senior Officers, Names Ajay Chaudhary Traffic Chief

Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar has appointed 1996-batch IPS officer Ajay Chaudhary as the national capital's new traffic chief as part of a major senior leadership overhaul across New Delhi on Tuesday.
The administrative shake-up reshuffled a total of 43 senior officers, restructuring key divisions across the force. The reorganised units include crime, traffic, the special branch, vigilance, intelligence, operations, and district policing.
Under the new postings, outgoing traffic chief Manish Agrawal has swapped roles with Ajay Chaudhary to take over as the Special Commissioner of Police for the protective security division.
Several other Special Commissioners of Police received new postings and responsibilities during the overhaul. Special CP Garima Bhatnagar will take on additional charge as the managing director of the Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited. Special CP David Lalrinsanga has been posted to head operations, taking additional charge of the Special Police Unit for North East Region (SPUNER).
Additionally, Special CP Atul Katiyar has been transferred to lead the welfare and legal division. Vivek Kishore, who arrived on transfer from Arunachal Pradesh, has been assigned as Special CP of the Special Police Unit for Women and Children, alongside the licensing wing.
The reshuffle also instituted key changes across the ranks of Joint Commissioners of Police in multiple city zones. Suman Goyal has been designated to lead the western range, while Milind Mahadeo Dumbere has been assigned to head the eastern range. Joint CP Nupur Prasad has been shifted to the New Delhi range, and Deepak Purohit has been moved to oversee the licensing department.
