Delhi Police Question In-Laws After Software Engineer Killed in Nihal Vihar

Delhi Police have questioned the parents of an accused woman two days after her husband, 31-year-old software engineer Vinay Gupta, was allegedly killed following a dispute over household chores at his residence in Nihal Vihar.
Police have so far arrested four people in connection with the case: Vinay's wife Rekha Gupta, her brothers Raju Jindal and Ved Prakash Jindal, and Raju's wife Poonam. However, the victim's family has alleged that six individuals were involved in the fatal assault and that two suspects remain at large.
According to Vinay's family, he was the sole breadwinner of the household and supported his parents and family. The family alleged that the accused assaulted and strangled him following an argument with his wife that began over something as minor as applying ointment.
Vinay's sister, Kirti, stated that this was not the first time his wife had created a ruckus over household duties. She said that over a month ago, Vinay had asked his wife to fill water bottles, after which she called her brothers and family members to assault him. At that time, her relatives had reportedly sided with Vinay, saying it was a basic chore and that she should help.
Investigators are currently questioning Rekha's parents and other witnesses, while also examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area as part of the ongoing probe.
