Delhi Police hunt for Jahangirpuri man accused of assaulting minor daughter

The Delhi Police have registered a criminal case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a man who allegedly sexually assaulted his 13-year-old daughter in the Jahangirpuri area of Delhi. The incident took place on July 7, and the accused father has since gone on the run.

The matter was reported to the authorities after the victim's mother filed a complaint at the Mahindra Park police station. Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation to locate and apprehend the accused, who has been identified as Shakir Ali.

According to the police, the complainant stated that her father, Shakir Ali, resides at Badli Village with her grandmother. Meanwhile, the 13-year-old victim lives with her mother and her 10-year-old brother at their residence in Jahangirpuri.

The survivor alleged that on July 7, Shakir Ali came to their Jahangirpuri home during a time when her mother and brother were not in the house. While they were away, the accused allegedly established forcible physical relations with the minor girl against her will.

The victim further told the police that after the assault, her father threatened to kill both her and her mother if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

After the mother discovered the incident and approached the police, a case was registered under the POCSO Act. Officials from the Mahindra Park police station stated that the accused is currently evading arrest.

"The accused is on the run, and efforts are being made to trace and apprehend him," a police official said. Further details regarding the investigation are currently awaited as the search for the accused continues.
