Delhi Police File FIR Against Andhra Man Over Forged US Visa Documents in Chanakyapuri
The Delhi Police at the Chanakyapuri police station registered a First Information Report against a 25-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh after the US Embassy reported that he had submitted forged educational, work, and financial documents to obtain a non-immigrant visa. The embassy submitted its official complaint to the Chanakyapuri police on August 8, following an interview held at the diplomatic mission on August 7.
According to the complaint details, the applicant appeared in person at the US Embassy located in Chanakyapuri, Delhi, on August 7 for his non-immigrant visa interview. As part of his formal application package, he presented a series of academic records from a Rajasthan-based university. The documents claimed that he had successfully completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Computers degree.
Along with his academic paperwork, the applicant submitted employment records to support his application. These included an appraisal letter from a company stating that he drew a monthly salary of Rs 35,000. He also handed over an experience letter asserting that he had worked at the firm from December 27, 2023, through July 31, 2026.
To further bolster his financial standing for the non-immigrant visa, the man furnished a financial net-worth certificate showing total assets valued at Rs 1.2 crore. Additionally, he supplied bank documents indicating individual account balances of Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh.
The discrepancies came to light during the visa interview conducted by embassy officials on August 7. During questioning, the 25-year-old man allegedly confessed directly to the embassy staff that he had never attended any classes at the Rajasthan-based university.
Furthermore, he admitted during the interview that all the educational credentials he had presented were entirely fake. This included his Bachelor of Commerce in Computers degree, marksheets, transcripts, semester grade reports, migration certificate, and provisional certificate.
Following the applicant's confession regarding the fraudulent documentation, the embassy authorities contacted local law enforcement. The Chanakyapuri police station formally recorded the complaint on August 8 and initiated an FIR against the Andhra Pradesh native based on the submission of the forged university certificates, fake employment letters, and inflated bank records.
