Delhi Police Constable Booked for Trespassing and Assaulting Woman in Gurgaon

A Delhi Police constable has been booked and placed in judicial custody after allegedly trespassing into a residential society in Gurgaon, issuing death threats, and physically assaulting a 21-year-old woman. The incident took place between 5:00 am and 6:30 am on May 31.

According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the police, the accused constable entered the Gurgaon apartment complex in a highly intoxicated state. He allegedly rang the doorbell of the complainant's apartment repeatedly. When the victim's mother opened the door, the accused attempted to force his way inside while hurling abuses and issuing death threats.

The complainant stated that the accused escalated the situation by verbally abusing her younger sister and threatening her with rape and murder.

The 21-year-old woman, who was returning home from a function, was informed about the incident by her mother. Shortly after, the accused intercepted her within the premises of the residential society. The FIR states that he abused her, issued death threats, and physically assaulted her. The assault was stopped when the woman's friends intervened.

Following the incident, the victim alerted the police and underwent a medical examination. The FIR against the Delhi Police officer was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The charges include voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, and acts intended to insult the modesty of a woman.

The complainant noted in her statement that a similar incident involving the same accused occurred in September last year, which had resulted in another FIR. The legal counsel for the complainant confirmed that the accused constable's bail plea was dismissed on Wednesday, and he remains in judicial custody.
