Delhi Police Bust Trafficking Syndicate, Rescue 10 Girls After Missing Teen Probe

Delhi Police have busted a human trafficking syndicate, rescuing 10 girls and arresting nine individuals after a search for a missing 15-year-old girl from south Delhi's Dakshinpuri led officers to illegal spa operations across multiple states.

The initial investigation began on May 9, when the 15-year-old girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police regarding her daughter's disappearance. During the probe, officers discovered that the missing teenager had come into contact with syndicate members via social media platforms. The gang allegedly targeted girls online, luring them with promises of lucrative employment at spas and a better lifestyle.

After being lured on social media, the 15-year-old girl was taken to Mundra, Gujarat. A Delhi Police team subsequently drove down to Gujarat to locate her. Officers located and rescued the teenager from a spa functioning inside a hotel in Mundra, according to DCP (south) Anant Mittal.

Four individuals were apprehended during the action at the Mundra location. They were identified as spa operator Damani Sushil Haresh, also known as Sushil, receptionist Lakshay, and two boys.

Following the rescue in Gujarat, further investigation revealed additional locations linked to the trafficking network. This prompted officers to execute coordinated raids in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia and Delhi’s Ganesh Nagar.

During the raid in Ballia, police uncovered another spa operation and rescued seven girls from the premises. Officers arrested two suspects at the scene, identified as Monu Sharma and Sanjeev Maurya.

In total, the multi-state police operation resulted in nine arrests and the rescue of 10 girls who had been targeted and lured by the trafficking gang.
