Delhi Police arrest YouTuber Gurman Singh for harassing women riders in Subhash Nagar

The Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old YouTuber, Gurman Singh, from Subhash Nagar in West Delhi, for allegedly harassing female two-wheeler riders and uploading videos of them on social media without their consent. The arrest, which took place on Friday, followed a complaint filed on June 2 by the parents of a minor girl.

According to the police, Singh operated YouTube and Facebook channels where he uploaded videos of himself intentionally hitting two-wheelers from behind, targeting mostly women and girls. He would initially apologise by saying "Sorry Didi" (sorry sister) before passing objectionable and inappropriate remarks against them.

The investigation began after a complaint was lodged on June 2. The complainant alleged that two unidentified motorcycle riders intentionally rammed their daughters' scooter from behind, stalked the minor girls, and abused them. The parents later discovered videos of the incident uploaded on YouTube and Facebook.

Following the complaint, the Cyber Police Station registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigators tracked Singh's social media accounts, which had roughly 70,000 subscribers, and found that his content largely featured women and girls.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Hareshwar Swami stated that a police team carried out extensive digital forensic analysis, technical surveillance, and examination of electronic evidence to trace and apprehend Singh.

During interrogation, Singh allegedly confessed that he created the videos to generate viral content, increase his social media following, and earn revenue through monetization. He admitted to targeting female riders because those videos generated higher engagement. Police recovered a mobile phone from Singh containing digital evidence linking him to the accounts, and actions have been initiated to take down his social media pages.
