Delhi Police Arrest Rambir Lohia in Fatehpur Beri Land Rivalry Murder Case

Delhi Police Arrest Rambir Lohia in Fatehpur Beri Land Rivalry Murder Case

Delhi Police have arrested 52-year-old Rambir Lohia, identified as a key conspirator in the murder of dairy businessman Ratan Lohia, in south Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri. The arrest comes nearly a year after Ratan Lohia was gunned down in a barrage of nearly 70 rounds.

Rambir Lohia, a resident of Fatehpur Beri, is the father of businessman Arun Lohia. The murder of Ratan Lohia was part of a spiralling land rivalry in the area that police say has claimed three lives.

According to police sources, investigators recovered video footage showing Rambir allegedly sitting with the shooters and his relative, Kamal, prior to the murder of Ratan. The recorded footage was forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory for technical analysis.

Police said the Forensic Science Laboratory confirmed that the recovered footage had not been tampered with and that it predated the killing. Investigators subsequently gathered additional evidence and leads against Rambir, culminating in his arrest.

The deadly feud dates back to a dispute over a plot of land and escalated in 2024 when Ratan’s son, Deepak, was allegedly attacked in connection with the ongoing property conflict. An attempted murder case was registered following the assault, naming 24-year-old Arun Lohia as the prime suspect.

The conflict turned fatal in May of the previous year when Arun Lohia was allegedly shot dead by Ratan’s son, Deepak. The retaliatory violence continued until Ratan Lohia was ambushed and killed.
