Delhi Police arrest alleged Karol Bagh scooty thief at Noida de-addiction center

Delhi Police officers have arrested a 26-year-old man from a drug de-addiction center in Noida for his alleged involvement in a vehicle theft that took place in Delhi earlier in June.
The suspect, identified as Mohammad Adnan, was tracked down to the Noida facility weeks after a scooty was reported stolen from outside a house on Joshi Road in the Karol Bagh area.
The theft occurred on the night of June 5, when the complainant parked his scooty outside his residence. Upon stepping outside the next morning, the owner discovered that the vehicle was missing. Following the incident, an e-FIR was registered, and an investigation was launched by a team from the DBG Road police station.
To identify the culprit, investigators scanned closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the immediate area of the theft as well as nearby routes. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Rohit Rajbir Singh, the footage yielded a clear image of the suspect. The recordings showed a man arriving at the spot on Joshi Road before riding away with the stolen scooty.
Police officers then circulated the captured CCTV images among local informers in an effort to identify the man. The informers identified the suspect in the footage as Adnan. During the subsequent verification process, officers learned that Adnan had been admitted to a drug de-addiction center in Noida. A police team was dispatched to the Noida facility, where they successfully apprehended him.
Following his arrest, Adnan was taken into police custody remand. Investigators are currently questioning him to recover the stolen scooty and to ascertain his potential involvement in other vehicle theft cases.
According to the police, Adnan has a history of prior criminal activity. He has been linked to six previous cases, which include motor vehicle theft and preventive action cases registered at the Sadar Bazar, Wazirabad, and Keshav Puram police stations.
