Delhi Police Arrest 3 Gangland Gang Shooters in Dwarka

The Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested three alleged shooters of a newly formed Mathura-based gang in Dwarka during the intervening night of July 29 and 30. The suspects, who were allegedly searching for soft targets to conduct extortion firings across Delhi-NCR, were apprehended in an SUV following a specific police tip-off.

Police identified the arrested men as gang head Kanha Singh Jadaun alias Kanha Thakur, 26, Suraj, 24, and Vallabha Charya, 30. Officers recovered three firearms—including one automatic pistol and two single-shot pistols—along with 11 live cartridges from their possession.

According to the police, the accused were members of a group calling itself "Gangland," which was recently formed in Mathura by Jadaun and an associate named Bhusan. The group allegedly flaunted its criminal activities on social media and subsequently began following fugitive gangster Rohit Godara. Intelligence gathered by the Special Cell revealed that the gang was actively seeking targets, including offices and vehicles, where they could open fire to terrorise people for extortion.

Jadaun, a graduate of Subodh College in Jaipur, was born in Mathura before moving with his family to Jaipur. He has three previous cases registered against him, including murder and Arms Act offences. In 2023, Jadaun and his associates allegedly killed a person in Jaipur in a contract killing by running him over with a vehicle.

Suraj, a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, also has three prior cases registered against him, including attempt to murder and Arms Act offences. The third suspect, Charya, previously worked as a gym trainer and opened a gym in Jaipur in March this year. Police said he joined the gang to make quick money after suffering losses in his business.

Police stated that the operation in Dwarka successfully averted potential firing and extortion incidents across the Delhi-NCR region. A case has been registered, and further investigation is currently underway.
