Delhi Man and Friend Arrested for Allegedly Killing Son in Kalindi Kunj
A 64-year-old tailor and his friend have been arrested for allegedly killing the tailor's son by assaulting him with a stone and strangling him in southeast Delhi's Kalindi Kunj, police said.
The accused have been identified as Talukdar Ansari, 64, and Mohammad Wasim alias Akram, 49, both of whom worked as tailors. The deceased was identified as Ansari's son, Gul Hasan. During questioning, Ansari told investigators that his son had schizophrenia and had become aggressive over time. He stated that he had grown frustrated by his son's behaviour and was unable to arrange proper medical treatment for him.
The incident came to light on August 23, when the police received information at around 7:13 pm regarding an unidentified body lying inside an abandoned container near the NTPC wall in Kalindi Kunj. The site was located around 500 metres east of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
Police personnel who reached the location discovered Hasan's body inside the container with visible head injuries. A concrete stone bearing apparent blood stains was also found near the body.
Following the discovery, a murder case was registered, and an investigation was launched. Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar formed investigative teams under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Vineet Kumar.
Investigators analysed footage from multiple cameras over several days to trace Hasan's movements. The footage eventually showed Hasan travelling with two men toward the crime scene, leading police to identify and arrest Ansari and Wasim.
