Delhi LG TS Sandhu and CM Rekha Gupta Celebrate Raksha Bandhan Across City

Delhi Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Friday and extended greetings to the public across New Delhi. Gupta marked the occasion with children living on the streets at the Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan, while Sandhu celebrated at Lok Niwas with female members of his security detail.
During the gathering at Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan, children tied rakhis to Chief Minister Gupta. According to an official statement, Gupta interacted closely with the children to learn about their education, interests, and future aspirations, assuring them that the Delhi government would support their schooling and overall well-being.
Gupta stressed during the interaction that every child deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams and receive the necessary resources to achieve them. Following the interaction, officials noted that several children from the group were admitted into schools on official instructions.
Gupta also shared a message on X to greet the public, describing the festival as a sacred celebration of affection, trust, and duty that serves as the foundation of familial values. She expressed her wishes that the bond brings happiness, prosperity, and warmth to every home.
At Lok Niwas, Lieutenant Governor Sandhu marked the festival with female security personnel who tied rakhis to him during the event.
Sandhu took to X to share his experience, calling it a touching moment that filled the day with warmth, affection, and joy. He stated that the gesture captured the spirit of Raksha Bandhan as a celebration of love, trust, and togetherness, noting that these bonds reinforce a sense of community beyond individual relationships. The LG also extended his festival wishes to all citizens.
