Delhi Lakshmi Yojana Payouts of ₹2,500 to Begin September 1

Eligible beneficiaries of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana will begin receiving official letters on August 27, with monthly assistance of ₹2,500 scheduled to be credited to their bank accounts starting September 1, according to a statement issued by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Gupta directed district committees across Delhi to finish verifying submitted applications at the earliest to ensure timely roll-out of the funds.

To assist applicants who submitted incorrect or incomplete details, the government will soon introduce an edit facility on the official scheme portal allowing them to make necessary corrections.

According to the Chief Minister, approximately 8 lakh women registered on the official portal within 18 days of the scheme's launch, and more than 5 lakh completed applications have been submitted so far.

Speaking on the response, Gupta noted that the scale of public participation in such a short window reflects growing trust in the women's empowerment initiative.

Registrations for the scheme officially opened on August 1. Under the rules of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, eligible women between the ages of 21 and 60 are entitled to receive monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500. Applicants are required to obtain an endorsement letter from their local Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) or Member of Parliament (MP), and the benefit is restricted to one woman per family.
