Delhi High Court to Hear ED Plea Against Arvind Kejriwal Bail on Monday

NEW DELHI — The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear on Monday a petition by the Enforcement Directorate challenging the bail granted to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case linked to the 2021-22 excise policy.

The petition, filed by the agency in 2024, is listed before Justice Manoj Jain.

The Aam Aadmi Party national convenor was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, 2024. A trial court subsequently granted Kejriwal bail on June 20, 2024, on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. The Delhi High Court later stayed the trial court's order following the challenge by the agency.

On October 14, 2025, the High Court gave the agency a "last and final opportunity" to present its arguments in the matter. Kejriwal's legal team had objected to "repeated" adjournments requested by the agency, alleging that it was unnecessarily delaying the proceedings.

Kejriwal has previously received relief from the Supreme Court in the same case. On July 12, 2024, the apex court granted him interim bail and referred three questions concerning the "need and necessity of arrest" under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to a larger bench.
