Delhi Government Schools to Serve Idli-Sambar in Revised Mid-Day Meal Menu

NEW DELHI — The Directorate of Education has directed government schools and implementing agencies across Delhi to introduce idli-sambar and other menu changes under the PM-POSHAN mid-day meal scheme.

The directive, issued on Monday, instructs all schools and implementing agencies to complete all necessary preparations to transition to the revised menu by August 24.

As part of the menu revisions, idli-sambar will be introduced for students. The updated menu also replaces ragi halwa with wheat flour and chana masala, and substitutes vegetable daliya with jowar and bajra.

In addition to these updates, the revised mid-day meal offerings include poori with black chana gravy, rice served with chhole and mashed vegetables, and poori served with chhole.

Schools and implementing agencies across New Delhi have been tasked with completing logistics to ensure the new meals are served on schedule by the August 24 deadline.
