Delhi Government Holds Workshop at Secretariat to Strengthen Cyber Security Frameworks

The Information Technology Department of the Delhi Government, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), organised a state-level consultative workshop at the Delhi Secretariat in New Delhi on Thursday. The workshop focused on strengthening cyber security frameworks for state data to protect the capital's digital infrastructure.

The event was aimed at addressing cyber security preparedness amid an evolving cyber threat landscape. Officials discussed strategies to protect public data, digital infrastructure, and essential citizen services from potential disruptions and cyber attacks.

Delhi IT Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh officially inaugurated the workshop. During his address, Singh spoke about the growing importance of cyber security in modern governance. He emphasised that safeguarding government data was not merely a technological responsibility but a commitment towards the citizens of Delhi.

According to the minister, the Delhi Government is continuously strengthening its cyber security architecture to protect public data and digital services. He stated that these efforts are guided by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s vision of a digitally empowered and transparent capital.

Singh highlighted that data security has become a key government priority due to the rise of cyber criminals who employ highly sophisticated methods. He noted that these threats often transcend geographical boundaries, making collaborative and advanced security frameworks necessary.

To counter these evolving challenges, the IT Minister urged various government departments to actively adopt best cyber security practices. He also called for the promotion of cyber awareness across all state institutions to build a more resilient digital environment.

The National e-Governance Division, which co-organised the event, operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The collaborative workshop represents a coordinated effort to secure Delhi's public data and digital services.
