Delhi Government Holds Cyber Security Workshop at Delhi Secretariat

The Information Technology Department of the Delhi Government, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), hosted a state-level consultative workshop on Thursday at the Delhi Secretariat in New Delhi. The event was organized to strengthen cyber security frameworks for state data and protect public services from evolving digital threats.
Delhi’s IT Minister, Pankaj Kumar Singh, inaugurated the event. During his address, Singh spoke about the growing importance of robust cyber security measures in protecting government data, digital infrastructure, and citizen services amid a rapidly changing cyber threat landscape.
According to the minister, safeguarding government data is not merely a technological responsibility but a direct commitment towards the citizens of Delhi. Singh stated that the Delhi Government is continuously working to strengthen its cyber security architecture. He noted that these efforts are guided by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s vision of a digitally empowered and transparent capital.
Singh explained that data security has become a primary priority for the government. He pointed out that cyber criminals are increasingly employing sophisticated methods that transcend geographical boundaries, making security frameworks more critical than ever.
To counter these threats, the IT minister urged government departments to adopt the best available cyber security practices. He also emphasized the need to actively promote cyber awareness across various public institutions.
The workshop, organized alongside the NeGD under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, focused on establishing collaborative strategies to secure the capital's public data and digital services.
