Delhi Fire Services Responds to Over 24 House Collapse and Tree Fall Calls

Heavy rain battered Delhi on Friday, triggering over two dozen emergency calls to the Delhi Fire Services since midnight regarding house collapses, structural failures, and fallen trees. The intense downpour inundated roads and disrupted vehicular movement across the capital, though officials confirmed that no injuries occurred in any of the reported incidents.

The Delhi Fire Services reported that nine of the emergency calls pertained specifically to complete house collapses or portions of buildings giving way under the severe weather. In one critical rescue operation, firefighters were dispatched after a tree collapsed directly onto a residential structure, trapping three women inside the house. Firefighters successfully rescued all three women safely without any reported injuries.

The continuous rainfall pounded several parts of the city throughout the day, causing significant waterlogging on key thoroughfares and disrupting daily life. Emergency response teams and local civic authorities worked to clear fallen trees from affected roads and restore normal vehicular movement across the city's transport network.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi also received a high volume of complaints related to tree falls and waterlogging from multiple parts of the capital following the downpour. According to a formal report issued by the civic body's Central Control Room, tree-fall incidents were recorded across the Keshavpuram, South, Central, West, and Civil Lines zones.

As rain continued in parts of the capital, civic agencies actively monitored waterlogged areas and maintained surveillance on vulnerable buildings across the city to prevent further accidents and manage ongoing emergency responses.
