Delhi Doctor Manish Gupta Arrested for Allegedly Killing Domestic Help in Kailash Hills

A 54-year-old doctor was arrested and remanded to two-day police custody by a Delhi court after allegedly killing his 45-year-old domestic help at his residence in South Delhi's Kailash Hills.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning, reportedly triggered by a dispute over whether to terminate the helper's employment.
The accused, identified as Dr. Manish Gupta, allegedly attacked the victim, Meena, on the rooftop of his third-floor house. According to the police, Gupta first hit her with a bat, causing her to fall to the ground, and then stabbed her multiple times with a knife. Meena had been working at the household for the past 10 years.
The Delhi Police responded to the scene after receiving a call at the Amar Colony police station at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. A neighbor had called to report a body lying soaked in blood on the rooftop. When police officers arrived, they found Gupta squatting next to the victim's body.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari stated that the accused admitted to the assault. During police questioning, Gupta reportedly claimed that the victim "brought bad energy" to the house. Gupta runs his own clinic near his residence in Mount Kailash.
Gupta's wife, Tina, informed investigators that her husband had been asking her to fire Meena for two to three years because he felt she was not cleaning properly. Tina had refused the requests, but stated that her husband had never made a fuss about it or shown signs that he would be so triggered by her decision. She described him as having been "mild-mannered" at home.
Police noted that the accused was on antidepressants. Investigators are currently looking into whether there is any other history of violence associated with him.
