Delhi BJP Starts Citywide Tiranga Yatras Ahead of Independence Day

The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a series of citywide Tiranga Yatras on Sunday as part of its Independence Day week celebrations, with state party president Harsh Malhotra set to join a march in the Chandni Chowk district on Monday. Thousands of party workers gathered and participated in foot marches organized across multiple districts to mark the launch of the campaign.

The overall coordination of the weeklong yatras is being handled by Delhi BJP state general secretary Vishnu Mittal, under the leadership of Malhotra. The party announced that similar Tiranga Yatras will be held across all organizational districts and several mandals throughout the national capital over the coming days in the lead-up to Independence Day.

In West Delhi, Member of Parliament Kamaljeet Sehrawat spearheaded a yatra that moved from Dholi Piau to Tilak Nagar. The rally saw active participation from senior party figures, including BJP national general secretary Arun Singh as well as Delhi ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Ashish Sood, who marched alongside local party workers.

Speaking on the purpose of the campaign, Sehrawat stated that the yatras are aimed at taking the spirit of patriotism directly to every household in the city. She urged citizens to keep the national tricolour flying high during the Independence Day week.

In another major rally in North-West Delhi, Member of Parliament Yogendra Chandolia led party workers in a march from Bhagwan Parshuram Chowk in Rohini to Jhanda Chowk in Sector 16. Chandolia emphasized that the outreach campaign should reach homes, shops, and institutions, inspiring people across the capital to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.

During the events, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh issued an appeal to members of the public, calling on them to proudly hoist the tricolour at their residences and establishments from August 9 to August 15.
