Delhi BJP Appoints Office Bearers For 11 Districts Ahead Of Municipal Polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in New Delhi announced the appointment of office-bearers for 11 of its 14 organisational districts on Saturday. This major organizational overhaul comes as the party begins its preparations for the municipal elections scheduled to be held in Delhi next year.
The appointments for the remaining three organisational districts—Outer Delhi, West Delhi, and Najafgarh—were not included in Saturday's announcement. According to party functionaries, the names for these three districts will be announced at a later date, following detailed consultations with the respective district presidents.
Alongside the district-level appointments, the Delhi BJP is also in the process of selecting its state-level functionaries. These state-level leaders, who largely run the affairs of the party at the city-state level, are expected to be announced next month.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor confirmed that the selection process for these key positions is currently active. "The process of appointing state-level functionaries such as vice presidents, general secretaries, secretaries and others is also underway and is expected to be announced in two weeks time," Kapoor said.
The organizational structure of the Delhi BJP consists of a president and multiple other functionaries. These include several vice presidents, general secretaries, and secretaries, alongside other leaders who are assigned specific party responsibilities by the president.
Under the party's rules, the appointments of these functionaries are co-terminus with the tenure of the Delhi BJP president. The president's term is generally three years.
The ongoing restructuring is considered highly critical for the party's local strategy. With the municipal elections scheduled for next year, the newly appointed district and state-level teams will be responsible for leading the party's campaign and organizational efforts across the city.
