Delhi Beefs Up Transit Hub Security Following ISI Railway Threat Intelligence
Security measures have been intensified across key transit hubs and their surrounding areas in New Delhi following intelligence reports indicating potential threats directed at the city's railway infrastructure.
Fresh intelligence inputs indicated that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) may have tasked Delhi-based operatives to conduct immediate reconnaissance of major railway facilities across the national capital.
The heightened security posture comes amid an alert linked to messages circulated on the Signal communication application by terror ideologue Farhatullah Ghori. The communications sought to incite sabotage and suicide attacks across the national capital.
Security agencies have gathered several critical inputs over recent weeks pointing toward coordinated activity by cross-border outfits. An intelligence input received on August 11 indicated that a Pakistan-based entity with links to the ISI and pro-Khalistan groups, including Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), planned to deliver an improvised explosive device (IED) to unidentified associates in the National Capital Region.
Additionally, a communication sent to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) control room on May 25 warned of an ISI-directed plot to execute six major blasts across the country, alleging that eight operatives linked to Talha Saeed had already entered India.
In response to these inputs, law enforcement and transit security personnel have stepped up vigilance, monitoring, and protective measures at key railway and transit points throughout Delhi to safeguard commuters and infrastructure.
