DDA Extends Booking and Payment Deadlines for Karkardooma Housing Scheme

DDA Extends Booking and Payment Deadlines for Karkardooma Housing Scheme

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has extended the booking deadline and payment timelines for its 'Towering Heights' Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) housing project in Karkardooma, East Delhi.

According to a circular issued by the authority, flat buyers now have until July 31 to complete bookings and make interest-free payments. The extension provides relief to buyers facing delays in statutory approvals and geopolitical challenges.

The revised timeline applies to the second phase of the first-come, first-served (FCFS) scheme, which originally launched in January with a March 31 deadline. The DDA previously extended this deadline to May 31 and June 30 before announcing the latest one-month extension.

In addition to booking extensions, the DDA has adjusted the payment schedule for allottees under both the Towering Heights Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2025 (e-auction) and the Karkardooma Housing Scheme 2026 (FCFS). Allottees whose 60-day interest-free payment period has expired can now pay without interest until July 31. Successful allottees who require more time can make payments until August 30, subject to a 10 percent annual interest rate.

The DDA cited the time required to secure necessary statutory approvals, the current geopolitical situation, and multiple representations from buyers requesting more time as the primary reasons for the extension.

The 'Towering Heights' project features 848 two-bedroom flats ranging in size from 140 square metres to 195 square metres. The flats are priced between approximately ₹1.8 crore and ₹2.4 crore. Of the total units, 741 flats are available for individual buyers, while 107 are reserved for bulk allotment to government institutions.

During the first phase of the project, which was conducted via an e-auction in December 2025, the DDA sold 178 of the 1,026 flats offered.

Spread over 30 hectares, the project is designed as a mixed-use development integrating residential, commercial, and civic spaces. Located next to the Karkardooma Interchange Metro station, the transit-oriented development offers direct access to the Blue and Pink Lines. It is also situated close to NH-9, NH-24, the Anand Vihar Railway Station, and the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).
