Cockroach Janta Party Expands Leadership, Forms Zonal Teams Amid Campaign
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), whose leadership recently led demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, announced a fresh organisational expansion on Tuesday. The outfit appointed five joint secretaries, two national spokespersons, and constituted zonal coordination committees for its north, west, and east zones amid its ongoing 'School Theek Karo' campaign across several states.
According to an official statement issued by the party, Rekha Sharma, Akshay Shinde, Prem Aakash, Anam Uzzama, and Balakrishna Shukla have been appointed as joint secretaries. Sudhir Sangwan and Siddhant Bhardwaj were named national spokespersons for the organisation.
The party also set up zonal coordination committees to strengthen its grassroots presence. The newly formed bodies include 17 members for the north zone, 16 members for the east zone, and 10 members for the west zone. The CJP stated that these committees will be tasked with coordinating activities across regions, building local leadership networks, and strengthening field-level initiatives to represent the concerns of ordinary citizens.
In its official statement, the CJP noted that these dedicated teams are intended to take its mission directly to the grassroots, strengthen local leadership, and build a broader movement for the common public.
The organisation announced that members of its national working committee will visit southern and north-eastern states in the coming weeks. Respective zonal coordination committees for those areas will be announced following the visits. The national working committee includes founder and convener Abhijeet Dipke, alongside co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who previously spearheaded the protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Alongside the structural appointments, the outfit launched a nationwide legal aid platform, www.cjplegalaid.com, for its supporters and volunteers. The initiative was rolled out by the party's legal affairs head, Ratna Singh.
The platform allows users to submit legal issues, share their location, and receive assistance from verified legal professionals. It includes an emergency feature designed to alert the coordination team and available lawyers in instances of arrest or detention. The CJP said that the service is free of cost, accessible in multiple Indian languages, and incorporates encrypted communications and secure document storage to protect user identities.
