CM Rekha Gupta Launches AI Dust Portal 2.0 To Monitor Delhi Construction Sites
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday launched 'Dust Portal 2.0,' an artificial intelligence-powered digital platform designed to monitor dust control measures at construction and demolition sites across Delhi. Developed by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), the new system aims to strengthen transparent enforcement against air pollution by automating the monitoring of sites measuring 500 square yards or more.
The digital platform will enable project proponents to conduct self-assessments of their dust control parameters. According to the Delhi government, the portal is designed to digitalize the compliance and challan processes, making data-driven monitoring and enforcement more effective.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that Delhi's fight against air pollution will rely on modern, smart administrative systems alongside strict regulations. She noted that the new portal will bring a significant change to how dust pollution at construction sites is managed and monitored.
According to Gupta, the government is utilizing AI and digital technology to simplify compliance, increase monitoring effectiveness, and make enforcement more transparent. The platform is intended to make every construction agency an active partner in reducing pollution in Delhi. Additionally, work is underway to fully digitalize the challan process so that notices and fines can be issued directly through the portal, reducing the potential for irregularities.
The Dust Portal 2.0 will map construction sites and automatically assess five key dust control parameters to ensure objective and uniform monitoring. The system will also identify the nearest air quality monitoring station to each construction site to analyze localized data.
As pollution levels rise, the portal will automatically issue yellow, orange, and red alerts, allowing relevant agencies to take timely action.
Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that the AI-based system will enable real-time compliance monitoring, issue immediate alerts for violations, and ensure strict action against repeat offenders.
