CM Rekha Gupta Inaugurates Two Slip Road Bridges in East Delhi's Kondli

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday inaugurated two newly constructed two-lane slip road bridges over the Ghazipur Drain and Hindon Canal in east Delhi’s Kondli.

The project is set to benefit thousands of residents living across the Trilokpuri, Kondli, and Patparganj Assembly constituencies by providing improved road connectivity, smoother traffic flow, and a more convenient transportation system. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the new bridges will play a vital role in strengthening local connectivity and easing travel for daily commuters in the region.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the Delhi government remains focused on infrastructure development that directly and widely serves the general public. She noted that strengthening the capital's road network, easing traffic congestion, and enhancing connectivity across various parts of the city remain core priorities for the administration.

Ms. Gupta described the Kondli project as an important step toward a better-connected, smoother, and more developed Delhi, adding that infrastructure work is being carried out continuously across the city to ensure safer and more efficient vehicular movement.

The Chief Minister also addressed long-standing issues surrounding Delhi's drainage infrastructure. She remarked that while the city had long required modernised drainage, adequate attention had previously not been given to the improvement, desilting, and maintenance of older drains and the broader drainage network.

Ms. Gupta noted that this neglect had led to waterlogging and inconvenience for citizens during the monsoon season. She added that the current government is actively working to strengthen the overall drainage network to establish a permanent solution to the city's waterlogging challenges.
