CJP Holds Naraina Park Meeting After Banquet Hall Cancels Booking

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was forced to hold a volunteer meeting in a park in Naraina on Wednesday after a local banquet hall cancelled its booking, allegedly due to political pressure from functionaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das stated that when party members arrived at the Naraina venue on Wednesday, the venue owner informed them that the meeting could not take place due to pressure from local BJP and RSS functionaries. Das alleged that over the past few days, the party has been denied venue bookings at at least 10 different locations under similar political pressure.

After being turned away from the banquet hall, CJP volunteers assembled at a nearby park to conduct their meeting. However, the gathering encountered disruption from locals. Das alleged that four to five people attempted to disrupt the park meeting, adding that some of these individuals had earlier tried to create a ruckus outside the residence of CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke.

Das further claimed that police officers present at the scene did not remove the locals. Videos circulating on social media showed heated exchanges taking place between local residents and CJP volunteers.

Responding to the allegations, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor denied any involvement in the cancellation. Kapoor stated that the BJP government had allowed CJP to hold protests at Jantar Mantar, and therefore the party had no reason to pressure a private banquet hall into denying permission.

A police officer stated that local residents showed concern over the meeting being held at the park, but maintained that police ensured the situation remained peaceful. The banquet hall management did not respond regarding the cancellation.
