CISF Officer Suspended After Taking Woman's Photo on Delhi Metro Near AIIMS

A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) assistant sub-inspector was suspended on Sunday after being caught allegedly taking photographs of a woman inside a Delhi Metro coach near AIIMS Metro station on the Yellow Line.

The CISF ordered an immediate departmental inquiry into the incident following the emergence of a video on social media showing fellow passengers confronting the personnel inside the train.

According to police officials aware of the matter, the complainant was travelling with her friend when the incident took place. The woman alleged that assistant sub-inspector A.K. Singh had taken photographs of the two women on his mobile phone without their consent.

A video that surfaced online later in the day showed commuters questioning the official, who initially denied capturing any images. The woman and several co-passengers then demanded that he show his mobile phone to verify the claim.

Upon checking the device, commuters discovered the photographs on the phone, triggering a heated confrontation inside the coach. The situation escalated as passengers attempted to take the phone from the official while he resisted. The woman was heard demanding that her photographs be deleted from the device.

Police said the complainant sent a written statement through WhatsApp within a few hours of the incident, stating that she did not wish to pursue the matter further.

Despite the complainant's decision not to file a formal complaint, police communicated the details to the CISF for internal disciplinary proceedings. Police stated that the matter is being examined and the force was informed for appropriate departmental action.

The CISF confirmed the disciplinary measures in an official statement, noting that it had taken serious note of the alleged misconduct by its personnel towards a female passenger on the metro train. The force announced that the concerned personnel was placed under suspension with immediate effect and that a detailed inquiry had been ordered.
