Chanakyapuri Police Book Parents Over Fake Disability Papers for Sanskriti School

Chanakyapuri Police Book Parents Over Fake Disability Papers for Sanskriti School

A criminal case has been registered by the Chanakyapuri police after Sanskriti School in New Delhi detected forged disability certificates submitted for nursery admissions under the Children with Special Needs quota for the 2026-27 academic session.

According to police sources, a senior official from Sanskriti School wrote to the Chanakyapuri police on September 16, seeking official verification of three recommendatory letters and accompanying disability certificates that had been handed in by parents seeking entry under the specialized quota.

The documents claimed that the children had a 41 percent hearing impairment. The medical certificates were purportedly issued by a Delhi government hospital.

The school administration alerted the police that it suspected the recommendatory letters, which appeared to come from the Directorate of Education, as well as the medical certificates, were not genuine. The school formally requested law enforcement to verify the legitimacy of all submitted records.

Following the complaint, Chanakyapuri police initiated a preliminary inquiry into the paperwork. During the probe, investigators verified the disability certificates annexed with the application files and confirmed they were forged.

Based on the school's formal complaint and the subsequent findings of the inquiry, the police registered a case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The charges include Section 318(2) for cheating, Section 337 for forgery of a public register or record, Section 340(2) for using a forged document or electronic record as genuine, and Section 61(2) for criminal conspiracy.
