BWF World Championships 2026 Mascot 'Peacko' and Anthem Unveiled in New Delhi

Union Sports Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Badminton Association of India (BAI) President Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled the official mascot and championship anthem for the BWF World Championships, New Delhi 2026, on Saturday, marking 30 days to go before the prestigious tournament.
The official mascot, named 'Peacko', is inspired by the Indian Peafowl and blends design elements representing India, Delhi, and the sport of badminton. The character features a distinctive skirt modeled after the shape of an open shuttlecock.
Alongside the mascot, officials introduced the championship anthem, which features India's entire 16-member badminton contingent appearing together off the court for the first time. The contingent includes prominent players such as PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty. The musical track draws creative inspiration from contemporary street rap culture in Delhi and across India.
Speaking at the launch event in New Delhi, Mandaviya highlighted the significance of hosting the global competition. He stated that the BWF World Championships, New Delhi 2026, marks an important milestone that reflects the growing stature of Indian badminton, alongside an ongoing commitment to developing world-class sporting infrastructure and expanding opportunities for athletes.
BAI President Sarma noted that the tournament's return to India after a 17-year gap represents a landmark moment for the sport. He expressed confidence that the launch of Peacko and the official anthem serves as the opening step in a campaign that will leave a lasting legacy for badminton across the country.
