Businessman's Son Among Two Arrested in ₹44 Lakh Robbery in Mansarovar Park

Delhi Police arrested two men on Friday for allegedly orchestrating the robbery of ₹44 lakh from a collection agent in east Delhi’s Mansarovar Park area, officers said on Saturday. Among those arrested is the son of the businessman whose money was stolen.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the victim, 52-year-old collection agent Jitendra Kumar, collected ₹44 lakh in cash from Avadhesh Tiwari, a Mansarovar Park-based businessman dealing in copper items. Kumar was tasked with delivering the cash to another person on behalf of Tiwari.

Shortly after leaving the premises, Kumar was intercepted by two motorcycle-borne men who stopped his bike, snatched the bag containing the cash, and sped away from the spot.

Following a complaint by Kumar, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 309 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rajendra Prasad Meena stated that investigators used technical surveillance to trace the conspiracy behind the crime. The probe revealed that the businessman’s 26-year-old son, Prabhay Tiwari, had planned the robbery along with his friend to clear his personal debts.

Prabhay Tiwari, a resident of Delhi, was arrested on Friday. His subsequent interrogation led police to arrest his accomplice, identified as 21-year-old Sarab Tiwari, a native of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the two motorcycle-borne men who executed the robbery on the road have been identified but remain absconding. Efforts are currently underway to trace the absconding suspects and recover the looted cash.
