Bomb Threats Trigger Evacuations at Two Delhi Schools in Dhaula Kuan and Lodhi Estate

On Wednesday morning, bomb threats prompted the immediate evacuation of students and staff at two prominent schools in Delhi, causing major disruption on the day classrooms were reopening after the summer vacation. The security alerts occurred at the Air Force Golden Jubilee School in Dhaula Kuan and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate, triggering a large-scale emergency response from local authorities.

According to officials from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the first alert was registered around 10 am on Wednesday. The DFS received a phone call reporting a bomb threat specifically targeting the Air Force Golden Jubilee School, which is located in the Dhaula Kuan area.

At approximately the same time, a separate security alert developed at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, situated in Lodhi Estate. Parents of the students at this school received an email informing them of a security threat on the campus. This digital notification prompted school administrators to act immediately to secure the premises and ensure the safety of everyone inside.

The threats occurred on the exact day that several educational institutions in the city, including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, were scheduled to reopen after their summer vacations.

In accordance with established safety protocols, school authorities initiated immediate evacuations. Both students and staff members were quickly moved out of the school buildings and shifted to pre-designated secure locations. Officials noted that the evacuations were completed in an orderly manner to minimise panic and protect the school communities from any potential risks.

Taking no chances, the Delhi Police and other security agencies launched extensive precautionary measures at both the Dhaula Kuan and Lodhi Estate campuses. Bomb Disposal Teams (BDTs) and Dog Squads were deployed to both schools. These specialised teams conducted thorough search operations across the premises to rule out the presence of any suspicious objects or explosive devices.
