BJP Appoints Deepak Mhaske as Social Media Convener in National Reshuffle

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Deepak Mhaske as its social media convener as part of a national team revision ahead of assembly elections in several states. Mhaske takes over the leadership of the party's social media department from long-time IT in-charge Amit Malviya.

To assist Mhaske in managing digital operations, the party named Priti Gandhi, Shivanand Dwivedi, Alok Bhatt, and Arun Yadav as social media co-convenors. The appointments come amid an increasing reliance by political parties on digital platforms to communicate directly with voters and party workers.

Alongside the social media team, the BJP assigned Anil Baluni to lead its communications strategy in the role of media coordinator. Baluni will be supported by three joint media coordinators: Ashish Usha Agarwal, Pradeep Bhandari, and Siddharth Yadav.

Following the announcement, Amit Malviya congratulated the new appointees on social media, noting that he had worked closely with the members over the past decade and expressing confidence that the digital communication unit would achieve new milestones.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his congratulations to the newly appointed office bearers following the team announcement under BJP national chief Nitin Nabin. Modi stated that the new team brings together organizational experience, energy, and a grassroots connect to strengthen party operations and focus on public service.

The broader organizational reshuffle assigns roles to several prominent leaders, including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, former Union Minister Smriti Irani, Ram Madhav, Piyush Goyal, and Baijayant Jay Panda.

Under the structure, BL Santhosh continues as the national general secretary (organisation), assisted by Shivprakash and Saudan Singh as national joint general secretaries (organisation). Smriti Irani has been designated as a national general secretary with responsibility for Uttar Pradesh, joining a team of eight general secretaries that includes Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi, and Sanjay Bhatia. The party also named 13 national vice presidents, including Rekha Verma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, and Bharti Pravin Pawar.
