Biker Sandeep Kumar Dies After DTC Bus Hits Motorcycle in GTB Enclave

A 38-year-old motorcyclist died on Sunday morning after a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus hit his two-wheeler in the GTB Enclave area of northeast Delhi. The collision caused the rider to fall and sustain fatal head injuries, according to the local police.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Kumar, who was a resident of Sahibabad in Ghaziabad. His 41-year-old brother, Deepak Kumar, shared that Sandeep was employed as a daily wage worker with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
The accident occurred in close proximity to the GTB Enclave police station. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rajendra Prasad Meena stated that the police station received an emergency call regarding the accident at around 12:05 p.m. on Sunday.
Upon receiving the call, responding police officers dispatched to the scene found both the DTC bus and the motorcycle involved in the crash. Sandeep Kumar, who had sustained severe injuries, was immediately rushed to the nearby GTB Hospital. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead upon arrival due to the nature of his head injury.
Following the fatal accident, the Delhi Police registered a formal case. The driver of the involved DTC bus was subsequently arrested and taken into police custody.
Deepak Kumar claimed that eyewitnesses at the crash site told him that Sandeep lost his balance while attempting to avoid a stray dog that had run onto the road, after which the DTC bus hit him.
However, police officers familiar with the investigation stated that no such account involving a stray dog was shared with them during their initial inquiries. To determine the exact cause of the crash, the police are currently examining CCTV footage retrieved from the area surrounding the site of the accident.
