Biker critically injured after speeding Audi rams motorcycle and SUV in Vikaspuri
A 31-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured on Saturday evening after a speeding Audi, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, rammed into his motorcycle and another SUV near the Vikaspuri fish market flyover in Vikaspuri, southwest Delhi. The incident occurred shortly before 8:02 PM, when local police received a distress call.
According to the Uttam Nagar police, a PCR call was made by the owner of the damaged SUV at 8:02 PM. Upon receiving the alert, police officers rushed to the spot near the Vikaspuri fish market flyover, where they found all three involved vehicles in a heavily damaged condition.
An eyewitness to the crash, Pawan Kumar Sharma, who is a resident of Rohini, told the police that the Audi was being driven recklessly and at a high speed. According to Sharma's account, the Audi was traveling on the wrong side of the road when it first rammed into the motorcycle and subsequently crashed into the other SUV. Following the multi-vehicle collision, the driver of the Audi abandoned the car at the spot and fled the scene.
The injured biker has been identified as Rahul, a 31-year-old resident of Vikas Nagar in west Delhi. The impact of the crash flung Rahul off his motorcycle, causing him to sustain grievous injuries. He was immediately rushed to Mata Roop Rani Mago Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Police officials stated that Rahul remains in critical condition and has been declared unfit to make a statement to the investigators.
The aftermath of the collision showed severe damage to all three vehicles. Visuals from the accident site revealed that the front portion of the second SUV was completely mangled, while the motorcycle was also heavily damaged. The abandoned Audi was recovered from the spot by the police.
The Uttam Nagar police have initiated an inquiry into the incident based on the eyewitness testimony of Pawan Kumar Sharma and are currently working to trace the unidentified Audi driver who absconded after the crash.
