Barkha Trehan Throws Ink at CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke at Jantar Mantar
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, self-proclaimed men's rights activist Barkha Trehan threw ink at Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke during a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Trehan claimed her actions were a protest against the alleged mockery of Hindu deities by Dipke and his associates on the stage.
The incident occurred while Dipke was addressing a crowd at the Jantar Mantar protest site, where the CJP has been demonstrating against the NEET paper leak since June 20. According to police officers, Trehan approached the stage, threw ink at Dipke, and was subsequently dragged away by CJP supporters. She was then detained and taken to the Parliament Street police station.
Speaking to news agency ANI on Sunday, July 19, 2026, Trehan defended her actions, claiming she witnessed Dipke and his associates laughing and mocking Lord Shri Ram and Goddess Sita on stage. Trehan stated that she does not tolerate remarks directed at Hindu deities and felt compelled to act.
Trehan clarified that she is not opposed to peaceful protests and has no affiliation with any political party. However, she alleged that the ongoing demonstration at Jantar Mantar is driven by a political agenda rather than the actual NEET issue.
She also accused Dipke's supporters of violence, claiming they severely beat her, thrashed her, and tore her hair before the Delhi Police intervened. Trehan thanked the police for saving her, maintaining that she had not committed any violence herself.
Additionally, Trehan stated she had gone to the site to warn activist Sonam Wangchuk that the CJP was using him. Wangchuk, who had been on a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, was forcibly shifted to a government hospital by the Delhi Police on Saturday morning.
Trehan, who describes herself as a "Hindu entrepreneur" and the "Voice of Men," previously participated in a protest at Jantar Mantar in December 2025 organized by her NGO, Purush Aayog.
