Authorities Remove Barriers and Structures Outside Pakistan High Commission in Delhi

Authorities in New Delhi carried out an operation on Thursday to remove unauthorised structures and queue-management barriers erected outside the Pakistan High Commission. The targeted structures, which included queue liners installed near the visa section of the Pakistani diplomatic mission, had been placed on a lane outside the compound’s officially approved boundary.
Along with the queue-management setups, Indian authorities also removed traffic bollards and barricades that had previously been placed around the perimeter of the diplomatic compound.
Following the demolition work, visuals from the location showed a trail of rubble scattered across the paved area outside the mission. Among the debris left behind were broken metal railings and gates, twisted metal frames, roofing sheets, bricks, and chunks of concrete and broken plaster.
Sections of the outer structures built along the perimeter were completely demolished during the action. These dismantled elements included corrugated roofing sheets as well as white metal fencing that had formed part of the outer setup outside the mission.
The visa processing section of the mission remained visible amid the surrounding debris. Service windows bearing official signages, including "Window 1", "Pakistani Passport Only", and "Window-5 / Collection of Visa Applications", were clearly identifiable at the site following the clearance drive.
The area immediately surrounding these service windows appeared damaged, with noticeable portions of plaster and masonry broken away. Scattered piles of broken fencing and discarded construction material were also seen lying around the counters where visa applicants queue.
The clearance drive in New Delhi comes days after authorities in Pakistan took similar action by removing security barricades and parking poles that had been placed outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
