Around 30% of Delhi Voters Could Be Struck Off Draft Electoral Roll

NEW DELHI — Around 30 percent of New Delhi's registered 1.45 crore voters may not be included in the upcoming draft electoral roll, which is scheduled to be published on Aug 24 under a special intensive revision drive.

The verification of credentials for nearly 32 percent of registered voters in the capital remains incomplete, with the submission window drawing to a close. The collection of enumeration forms and online submissions is scheduled to end on Aug 17.

According to election officials, a substantial portion of voter forms remains uncollected just days before the deadline.

"Over 30% of the forms distributed to 1.45 crore voters in Delhi are yet to be collected even though only three days are left. The primary reason is that they are absent, shifted, or dead & duplicate," an official stated.

With the Aug 17 deadline approaching, the pending verification process leaves roughly a third of the city's registered electorate at risk of omission from the draft roll set to be released later this month.
