AAP to Hold 'National Town Hall Against E20' at Constitution Club on August 1

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a 'National Town Hall Against E20' at the Constitution Club of India in Delhi on August 1, party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced during a press conference on Monday, July 27. The party is escalating its campaign to press the central government to withdraw mandatory E20 petrol.

Addressing the media, Kejriwal invited experts and citizens who have faced problems with their vehicles due to E20 fuel to participate in the meeting. He stated that the town hall will serve as a platform to discuss how to build pressure on the central government regarding the fuel policy.

Kejriwal revealed plans to personally deliver an online petition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence following the August 1 town hall meeting. According to the former chief minister, the AAP's petition seeking to make E20 fuel optional has gathered nearly 2 lakh signatures.

Earlier in the month, Kejriwal wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi requesting an appointment to raise concerns over E20 fuel and urging a price reduction for ethanol-blended petrol. Drawing a comparison to previous public actions, Kejriwal noted that when the nation's youth united, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was forced to resign, arguing that citizens must similarly unite to raise their voice against E20 petrol.
