AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha Writes to Delhi L-G Seeking Probe into Alleged Scams

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sanjeev Jha on Sunday wrote to Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu, seeking a thorough investigation into alleged scams in the procurement of bicycles, medicines, and rice.

In his letter, the legislator submitted detailed documentation regarding the alleged irregularities and urged the Lieutenant Governor to initiate a fair and comprehensive probe into the matter. Mr. Jha stated that it is vital for the facts surrounding these procurement cases to be brought to light and for appropriate legal action to be taken against anyone found guilty.

Sharing details of the development in a post on X, Mr. Jha said that he had provided detailed information, documents, and important facts related to the bicycle, medicine, and rice cases directly to the L-G. He affirmed that the AAP and the Opposition would continue to raise matters concerning the public interest in the capital with full strength.

Mr. Jha also requested a formal meeting with the Lieutenant Governor on behalf of a wider delegation. He indicated that all Opposition MLAs, accompanied by AAP state president Saurabh Bharadwaj, wish to meet Mr. Sandhu in person to place all available evidence and documents before him.

Explaining the purpose of the meeting, Mr. Jha noted that the objective of the delegation is to place factual information on these serious issues before the Lieutenant Governor and draw attention to the necessity of an official inquiry. He expressed hope that an appointment would be granted at the earliest given the gravity of the allegations.

The allegations had earlier been rejected by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On August 12, the BJP dismissed the accusations as baseless and maintained that the AAP was rattled by the implementation of welfare schemes.
