60-Year-Old Man Injured After Firearm Discharges at Kishangarh Motor Market

A 60-year-old man was injured on Tuesday after his licensed firearm allegedly discharged accidentally at Kishangarh Motor Market in south Delhi. The victim, identified as Mahendra Singh, suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder after handing the weapon to his driver.

Singh, a resident of Vasant Kunj, had visited the motor market along with his driver, Monu Kumar, a resident of Mehrauli. According to police, Singh was carrying his licensed firearm and handed it over to Kumar. While the driver was handling the weapon, it allegedly fired by accident.

Following the discharge, Kumar immediately rushed Singh to Fortis Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment while medical personnel monitor his condition.

The Kishangarh police station initially received a PCR call reporting that a person had suffered a gunshot injury at the market. A police team dispatched to the spot learned that the victim had already been transported to the hospital for emergency care.

Police have since apprehended Monu Kumar and initiated legal proceedings regarding the incident. Investigators confirmed that the licensed firearm has been seized as police look into the exact circumstances leading up to the accidental firing.
