6,000 Join NDMC's Tiranga Yatra in Connaught Place

Around 6,000 students, municipal employees, and residents participated in a Tiranga Yatra organised by the New Delhi Municipal Council in Connaught Place on Monday. The march was held as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off the event from the Janpath Radial at the Inner Circle of Connaught Place. Participants carried the Tricolour and raised patriotic slogans as they moved through the area.

Addressing the gathering, Gupta stated that the event was not merely a march with the national flag, but a collective expression of patriotism and a resolve to contribute towards building a developed nation.

"The Tiranga Yatra is not merely a march with the national flag in hand, but a journey of resolve towards building a Viksit Bharat," Gupta said. She noted that the active participation of children and young people reflected the country's energy and strength.

Gupta emphasised that building a developed India requires citizens' contributions alongside government efforts. She highlighted the role of young people in sectors including education, innovation, technology, manufacturing, and artificial intelligence, adding that nation-building accelerates when youth contribute actively. She also connected the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to the vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047'.

According to the official statement, the gathering included students and teachers from New Delhi Municipal Council schools, parents, municipal employees, and representatives from resident welfare associations and market associations, alongside citizens from various walks of life.

NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal stated that the march completed one full round of Connaught Place's Inner Circle before concluding. Chahal added that the presence of schoolchildren and college students gave special significance to the event.

The civic body noted that the march brought together diverse sections of society under the national flag, highlighting unity and shared identity. The NDMC also urged the public to participate in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga-2026' campaign and display the national flag.
