47.7 Lakh Electors Excluded in Delhi Draft Voter Roll Following SIR Exercise
The draft electoral roll for Delhi was published on August 31, 2026, following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, with as many as 47.7 lakh electors excluded out of the national capital's 1.45 crore registered voters.
The SIR exercise commenced on June 20 and concluded on August 17. According to election officials, the excluded individuals are considered to be electors who may have relocated or died, or those who were covered under duplicate entries. Others have been categorised as "uncollectible" for various reasons and are slated to have their names struck off the rolls.
Delhi’s Chief Electoral Officer stated that citizens whose names have been omitted can submit their claims and objections until September 30, 2026. The final electoral roll will be published on November 4.
Voters can verify their status on the draft list through the Election Commission’s voter services portal using three methods: entering their Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number, searching through their registered mobile number, or providing demographic details such as name, relative's name, date of birth, age, gender, district, and Assembly constituency.
For those seeking restoration or fresh inclusion, the Election Commission has outlined a claims process through Form 6. Electors can verify past registration records online and submit the form via the Election Commission website or the Voter Helpline App.
The application requires a mandatory lineage declaration containing historical voter roll details for the applicant or their parents. Applicants must also submit supportive documentation, including proof of age and identity through an Aadhaar card, passport, or PAN card, alongside valid proof of Delhi residence such as a recent electricity bill, water bill, or bank passbook.
After submitting the form, applicants receive an instantly generated reference ID, which allows them to track the status of their inclusion claim ahead of the September 30 cut-off date.
