30-Year-Old Man Dies After Jumping into Drain in East Delhi's Kanti Nagar

A 30-year-old man died after allegedly jumping into a drain in east Delhi's Kanti Nagar on Monday following a dispute with his wife, according to police officials.

The deceased, identified as Naseem Khan, resided in Kanti Nagar with his parents, wife, and three children. He worked at a jeans factory located in nearby Gandhi Nagar. The incident took place when Khan's mother reportedly chased after him in an effort to stop him, but witnessed him jump into the drain.

Upon receiving information regarding the incident, police teams arrived at the location in Kanti Nagar and deployed divers to conduct a search operation in the drain. Following an extended search effort, Khan was pulled out of the water in an unconscious state.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where medical staff declared him dead on arrival.

Police said the body was subsequently sent to the mortuary for a postmortem examination. A preliminary inquiry has been initiated into the matter, and investigators are questioning family members to establish the full sequence of events leading to the death.
